  • Follow the instructions in Before You Begin.

  • Remove the base cover.
  • Remove the memory modules.
  • Remove the hard drive
  • Remove any installed Mini-Cards.
  • Remove the screw that secures the optical drive to the computer base.
  • Remove the keyboard.
  • Remove the palm rest.
  • Remove the screw that secures the dell studio 1450 optical drive Dell Studio 1450 DVD Drive to the system board.
  • Lift the optical drive away from the computer base.
